One artist that I have been researching and getting a lot of ideas from lately is Michelle Stoney. Michelle is a beautiful Indigenous artist who creates just about everything you can think of to drums to painting to jewelry. But ever since covid, she has been making a lot of digital creations such as colouring books, colouring pages, and calendars. Her artwork is amazing and looks beautiful when she adds it into a digital setting. Event though her lines are so smooth, and it looks like they are created on the internet she hands crafts them all herself. She gets her lines so straight by using lots of water to help her out. Her work also connects to her culture and creation stories that have been passed down to her by elders. The reason why I resonate with this artist so much is because of her choice of shapes and her use of shapes and lines. She is a beautiful artist, and I am excited to learn more from her with her future creations.
